Welcome to Coln Valley Press. Across the centuries, from Thomas Bewick in the eighteenth century to Charles Tunnicliffe and Gertrude Hermes in the twentieth century artists from the British school of wood engraving have created beautiful rich tonal prints from wood engravings. Here we have brought together some of this country’s leading wood engravers and an engraver on vinyl to bring you the beauty of this little known art. All our prints are originals taken directly from the block. This differs radically from a reproduction print where an original painting is photographed and mechanically printed. Each print is signed and numbered and editions are strictly limited as shown.
