The Shooting Man's Bedside Book

When 'BB' first compiled The Shooting Man's Bedside Book in 1946, he saw the need for a book which was largely composed of the best descriptive writings on the sport. These pages are packed with evocative and stirring passages for sportsmen to enjoy after a day out and during the long winter evenings.

The extracts chosen represent some of the great writers of the past: W.H. Hudson, Richard Jefferies, Peter Scott, Charles St. John, J.G. Tregarthen and Gilbert White, with poems by John Masefield, Patrick Chalmers and Robert Louis Stephenson.
